Ojha and Gurney (2014) conducted a meta-analysis to deduce whether the MTHFR C677T mutation was associated with overall survival in paediatric acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Six studies were employed, totalling 909 paediatric patients with ALL. The current evidence suggests that individuals with at least one T allele in the C677T gene code may have a higher risk for ALL mortality, with the greatest statistical support for MTHFR 677TT.
