Dr Carolyn Ledowsky, PhD

Founder of MTHFR Support Australia and Naturopath

Dr Carolyn Ledowsky, PhD is a naturopath, herbalist, nutritionist and clinical researcher with more than 15 years of experience in women’s health, fertility, and complex chronic disease. She is the Founder of MTHFR Support Australia, a specialist clinical practice focused on methylation, folate metabolism, genetic susceptibility, and personalised nutritional and herbal interventions.

Dr Carolyn has completed her PhD in Public Health at the University of Technology Sydney. Her doctoral
research examined the effectiveness of 5 methyltetrahydrofolate (5 MTHF) compared with folic acid in couples with recurrent pregnancy loss, contributing new insight into folate metabolism, MTHFR polymorphisms, and reproductive outcomes. Her research interests span folate metabolism, infertility, miscarriage, methylation biochemistry, and the clinical application of nutritional and herbal medicine.

Jessica Birch is a university-trained natural health practitioner covering all specialities, and a keen interest in preconception and fertility. Over the past 17 years, she has helped hundreds of women achieve extraordinary outcomes through her health + fertility programs. Her comprehensive approach focuses on all aspects of health + fertility including genetics, nutrition, biochemistry, lifestyle, environment as well as the mind and emotions.  Jessica helps couples with preconception,  fertility, pregnancy, and perhaps most importantly… the life-long health of their children.

Rachel Kane

Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine

Rachel is a Certified Practising Nutritionist with a Bachelor in Health Science (Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine) and a passion for understanding how our genes influence our health. Her journey into personalised nutrition began when she explored her own DNA blueprint — an AHA moment that revealed just how powerful genetic insights can be when combined with evidence-based nutrition and reshaped the way she approaches health and wellness in clinic. Rachel is an experienced practitioner with a special interest in fertility, aged care and children. She assists clients by getting to the root cause combining genetics, blood work, functional testing to design unique plans tailored to you. Her role is to empower you, not overwhelm you. Rachel is here to support and guide you with care and compassion.

Qualified Naturopath and accredited member of NHAA

Sarah is a degree qualified Naturopath who strives to provide a safe, educational and nurturing environment with every individual, offering long term health care solutions through addressing the root cause of health and wellness concerns.

She works to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine through the integration of scientific evidence based studies and research along with her training in genetics, traditional herbal medicine, nutrition and functional testing. Sarah’s areas of passion fall within the gastrointestinal microbiome, vaginal microbiome and reproductive hormonal care.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) and is an accredited member of NHAA.

Tatum Shalevski

Tatum Joined MTHFR Support Australia in 2025

Tatum is a degree-qualified naturopath with a strong academic foundation in nutritional science, herbal medicine, and functional pathology. Her clinical approach is deeply rooted in evidence-based practice, with a particular emphasis on genetic susceptibility and methylation-related pathways. She integrates advanced functional testing and nutrigenomic insights to tailor interventions that address the biochemical individuality of each patient.

Her clinical interests include women’s health, allergic conditions, and gastrointestinal dysfunction, where she applies a systems biology lens to uncover and address underlying genetic and environmental contributors. Tatum’s practice is informed by the latest research in nutrigenomics, including polymorphisms such as MTHFR, COMT, and CBS, and their impact on detoxification, hormone metabolism, and immune regulation.
