How to Know Which Diet Is Best for You

Join Carolyn when she does a deep dive with Building Biologist, Jeanette Williams on the topic of mould.

With the recent flooding, almost every house along the eastern seaboard has been affected in one way or another.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PROTECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FROM MOULD.

We will discuss:

  • With the recent rains what do people need to look out for in their house that might indicate mould?
  • How would you address it?
  • What is safe to do yourself and what absolutely needs to be kept for the experts.
  • What are good ways to test
  • What does a building biologist do?
  • What sort of costs would you expect to outlay for a building biologist to come and do a report on your house?
  • Who are the reputable mould remediation places that you would recommend to come out?
  • Do things like HEPA filters work?

Jeanette Williams

Jeanette is a certified Building Biologist, having undertaken her studies at the Australian College of Environmental Studies. Jeanette is also IICRC certified in Water Restoration.

Starting in 2011 Jeanette consulted to the largest Building Biology consultancy in Australia, and now focuses on her own practice with Building Biology Sydney. As a Building Biologist Jeanette looks at the built environment, looking for environmental hazards that could potentially be implicated with chronic health issues.

Building Biology encompasses mould and moisture, chemical exposure, water quality and the electrical environment. Much of Jeanette’s work has been in the field of mould and moisture, however the overlap between exposure to mould, chemicals and electromagnetic fields must always be considered. Increasingly Jeanette is being asked to undertake indoor air quality assessments for residential and commercial buildings, analysing levels of CO2, respirable and inhalable dust particulates, volatile organic compounds, and formaldehyde.
